APIL has urged the teaching community to work alongside the association to oust misunderstandings about health and safety in schools.
In a letter to the Daily Telegraph, APIL chief executive Deborah Evans said that children need ‘rough and tumble’, “but injuries arising from negligence are avoidable and can be damaging,” she added.
“If schools had a better understanding of this and the basics of litigation, they would have no need to fear it.”
