LAS launches interactive ‘facebook-style’ claims system

Insurers and policyholders have been invited to get to grips with a “revolutionary” online claims management system which allows 24-hour interactive access to the progress of individual claims.

Bosses at claims management company LAS have heralded the new ‘CLASS’ system as “the facebook of the claims industry” following last week’s launch of the new ClaimsWall, which is based on a social networking format providing live updates and interaction across the various parties involved in the claims process.

Tim Walker, LAS commercial director, explained that the system has been developed primarily to enhance the transparency of the claims process in the eyes of the consumer, while also helping to strengthen the relationship between insurance companies and customers.

He said: “CLASS can be constructed with insurance company specific features and branding which ensures greater engagement between the customer and insurer throughout the process from initial notification to the completion of a client specific customer satisfaction survey, all on line and from the comfort of their PC or smartphone. CLASS also gives insurers a totally new opportunity to enhance their marketing by including branding and links to their core sales and marketing websites within the customer ClaimsWall”.

The system is described as being developed with the latest field based technology, such as resource mapping and live video streaming, to allow decision making to made by loss adjustors working remotely from the desk.

Walker added: “This is a truly unique development and will revolutionise the way we deal with customers. CLASS puts the policyholder at the centre of the claim handling process and engages them in a way the market has ever seen before, where they now have the ability to communicate with every party involved in the claim through a social networking forum”
