APIL appoints new chief executive

Deborah Evans, former CEO of the Legal Complaints Service, has been appointed new chief executive at the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

Deborah, who takes up the post on 6 June, has a track record of fighting on behalf of injured people, having also spent eight years as practice director of a law firm with a strong personal injury practice.

“I’m delighted to be joining APIL at a time of significant change in the legal landscape,” she said. “It represents a fantastic opportunity to make a positive contribution in a climate which will present new challenges to lawyers who are striving to represent the best interests of injured people.”

APIL president, David Bott, said he was “delighted” to have someone of Deborah’s calibre in the chief executive’s role.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with Deborah in the challenging times ahead,” he said. “I know she will be a great asset to APIL as we continue our work to keep injured people at the forefront of any changes to the legal system.”
