Those interested in learning more about APIL’s evidence to the House of Commons Transport Select Committee can read the association’s written submissions online.
APIL vice-president David Bott appeared this week before a hearing of the committee to answer questions as part of its ongoing inquiry into the rising cost of motor insurance.
David told the committee that the RTA claims portal is designed to streamline the process and reduce costs, although more time is needed to see if it will work.
He also told the committee that referral fees do not play a part in increasing the cost of motor insurance, as suggested by insurance representatives, because the fees are not recoverable from insurers.
